Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; schedule includes every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate post-operative orthopedic nursing care to adults and older adults
- Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal, and wound VAC maintenance with attention to detail
- Manage Foley catheters and NG tubes safely and according to policy
- Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with surgeons, PT/OT, PCTs and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on post-op care, mobility, and discharge instructions
- Ensure safe patient handling using lifts and mobility devices and promote early mobility
- Advocate for patient needs and contribute to a positive, family-centered unit culture
Qualifications
- Active NC Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (hospital experience preferred)
- Orthopedic nursing experience preferred
- Proficiency with Cerner or similar EMR systems preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
- Team player who adapts well in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthopedic post-operative care and common ortho procedures
- Wound VAC management and wound care principles
- Suture/staple removal techniques
- Foley catheter and NG tube care and troubleshooting
- Safe patient handling and familiarity with lifts, CPMs and mobility aids
- Accurate clinical documentation in Cerner EMR
- Strong communication, critical thinking and patient advocacy skills
