Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality oncology nursing care to adults on the Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
• Administer medications and support treatments safely, following hospital protocols and using Cerner EMR
• Perform and assist with occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echos, and thoracentesis when needed
• Assess patients regularly, monitor changes, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Provide patient and family education about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and maintain appropriate patient ratios
• Support unit guidelines, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as listed)
• Chemo certification preferred but not required
• Comfortable working with Cerner EMR
• Experience or willingness to perform occasional pelvic exams, echos, and thoracentesis is a plus
• Team-player attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge and patient assessment skills
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record system
• Ability to safely administer and monitor infusions and oncology treatments
• Clinical skills for supporting occasional procedures (echo, thoracentesis, pelvic exams)
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization in a 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratio setting
