Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care to post-op, trauma, cardiac, neuro, and stepdown patients on a 25-bed unit
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes early
• Safely manage IV medications and drips including heparin, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine and other infusions
• Perform frequent patient assessments and vital signs (q4) and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer NIH Stroke Scale assessments and participate in timely stroke care workflows
• Document accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate clear handoffs to coworkers
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Deliver compassionate patient and family education during critical transitions of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (per state requirements)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical nursing experience (PCU/telemetry or similar preferred)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Competency with NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and IV medication/drip management
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills
