Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and develop individualized plans of care
• Plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team
• Use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition promptly
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible parties
• Maintain complete, accurate and timely patient documentation
• Meet Core Measure responsibilities and contribute to quality patient outcomes
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with best practices
• Foster a healthy workplace by managing conflict with professional communication skills

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current CPR/BLS required
• ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications as indicated in the job posting
• Operating Room experience preferred (perioperative skills and familiarity with OR workflow)
• Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and individualized care planning
• Clinical judgment and the ability to recognize changes in patient condition
• Patient documentation and electronic health record usage
• Multidisciplinary collaboration and clear professional communication
• Core measures compliance and quality-driven care
• Familiarity with a variety of specialty areas (cardiac, ICU/PCU, NICU, pediatrics, mother-baby, ER, recovery room, infusion services)
