Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
• Deliver evidence-based emergency and trauma nursing interventions with confidence
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes thoroughly in EPIC
• Maintain required certifications and participate in unit orientation and ongoing education
• Assist with safe patient transfers and handoffs, keeping patient safety front and center
• Support department operations during high-volume periods and adapt to changing priorities

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) licensure (state license required for practice)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (ER/trauma experience strongly preferred)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Willingness to work nights and float within Zone 5 when needed

Education

• Active RN licensure required
• BSN not required (as stated in job data)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing and trauma assessment skills
• Proficient with EPIC electronic health records
• Skilled in ACLS/BLS protocols and pediatric emergency fundamentals (PALS)
• Familiar with NIHSS stroke assessment and trauma nursing care
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt in an acute care setting
