Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 6-week schedule; every other weekend and holiday rotation required (Night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on a busy PCU/stepdown unit with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Continuously assess adult patients and intervene promptly for changes in condition
- Interpret telemetry and monitor cardiac rhythms to support timely clinical decisions
- Safely titrate IV drips (heparin, octreotide, insulin, etc.) per unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including charge nurses and tele/monitor techs, to coordinate care
- Provide clear, accurate documentation in EPIC and participate in unit handoffs
- Support unit throughput by assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently
- Model safe patient handling using equipment such as LUCAS, hoyer lifts, and sit-to-stand devices
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in the region)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU/stepdown, telemetry, med/surg, ICU or ED experience valued)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be current at time of submission)
- Ability to interpret telemetry and titrate drips per protocol
- Driver's license required at time of submittal to confirm radius compliance
- Willingness to complete orientation requirements including an open-book skills exam (90% required to continue assignment)
- Must not be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within a 50-mile radius
- Adherence to unit infection control/personal appearance policies (artificial nails prohibited)
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- IV medication administration and drip titration
- Patient assessment and acuity-based decision making
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
- Experience with code carts and emergency response protocols
- Safe patient handling techniques and use of LUCAS, hoyer lift, sit-to-stand
- Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Stroke care basics and NIHSS assessment knowledge
