Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery
• Deliver vigilant post-anesthesia care in the PACU to ensure safe recoveries
• Monitor vital signs, manage airways and address immediate post-op needs
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions
• Document care accurately and maintain compliance with facility protocols
• Participate in shared on-call duties for nights and weekends as scheduled

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• TB clearance completed within 12 months of start
• Experience working in Pre-Op and/or PACU settings preferred
• Comfortable participating in shared on-call rotations (nights and weekends)

Education

• Active RN licensure in California required; ADN or BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and post-anesthesia nursing principles
• Patient assessment, monitoring and triage in the immediate post-op period
• Medication administration and pain management in PACU
• Airway management and basic advanced life support skills
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary surgical teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic charting
