Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for mostly adult patients with occasional pediatrics
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the Nursing Process to support excellent outcomes
- Collaborate with Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, and Nursing Supervisor to manage patient flow and care needs
- Lead and mentor the bedside team during your shift to ensure safe, compassionate care
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the EMR
- Triage and prioritize care needs across inpatient, outpatient, observation, and swing bed settings
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Qualifications
- Current Vermont RN license or valid multi-state RN licensure prior to start
- Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience (Med/Surg experience required)
- BLS (American Heart Association) required before start
- ACLS certification required before start
- Familiarity with Meditech preferred
- Comfort caring primarily for adults with occasional pediatric patients (this is not a pediatric-only floor)
- Ability to upload all required credentials five business days prior to start
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical decision making and application of the Nursing Process
- Proven Med/Surg nursing skills including assessment, medication administration, and complex care coordination
- Experience with outpatient, observation, and swing bed care settings
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a critical access hospital setting and escalate appropriately
- Basic EMR proficiency (Meditech preferred) and accurate clinical documentation
