Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and record vital signs, behaviors, and any changes in condition
• Support safe mobility and fall-prevention measures for residents
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to the care team
• Promote dignity, independence, and a positive environment for residents
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to keep everyone safe
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to meet resident needs

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• State GNA registration or licensure as applicable
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working overnight shifts and adapting to per-diem schedules
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and elder-focused approaches
• Skilled in ADLs, resident transfers, and safe patient handling techniques
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and emergency response
• Good charting practices and clear communication with clinical teams
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents and families
