Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist, helping patients progress toward their goals
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress documentation in accordance with PT Board requirements
• Assist with maintaining a safe, organized, and well-equipped treatment area
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences to contribute clinical observations and progress reports
• Support nursing staff by training Restorative Aides and caregivers in maintenance programs
• Deliver caregiver training and patient/family instruction in preparation for discharge from therapy services
• Report equipment issues promptly so the team can keep tools and devices in good working order
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members about patient progress, challenges, and plans

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing with the State Board (required)
• Proficiency entering clinical documentation into Casamba and PointClickCare
• Demonstrated ability to train restorative aides and provide caregiver education
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Willingness to meet state continuing education requirements to maintain licensure

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) — per State Board requirements
• Must maintain required continuing education for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and direct treatment techniques

• Treatment plan implementation under PT direction
• Caregiver training and restorative aide instruction
