Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT and MRI procedures accurately and safely following established protocols
- Operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment, including C-arm and OR imaging
- Prioritize patient education and comfort by clearly explaining procedures and answering questions
- Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA standards at all times
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service support when needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EHR, including procedure charges
- Assist with clerical tasks, patient transport, and departmental inventory management as required
- Train, assist, and cross-train imaging staff to support a collaborative team environment
- Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and required annual training
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) with CT and MRI certifications required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist with CT and MRI
- Experience with PACS and RIS/HIS electronic records preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 if position requires driving) and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must successfully pass background check, pre-employment drug screen, and any required health clearance
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in CT, MRI, radiography, X-ray, and fluoroscopy
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS/HIS, and EHR documentation workflows
- Competence in radiation safety practices (ALARA) and infection control
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment
- Comfort working in OR imaging and using C-arm equipment
- Patient-centered communication and education skills
- Adaptability to assist across modalities (DEXA, Mammography) and take on-call or overtime shifts
