Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services using CT, X-ray, fluoroscopy and C-arm equipment
- Follow Imaging Department protocols and radiologist instructions to ensure accurate studies
- Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA principles for patient and team protection
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment per manufacturer recommendations and troubleshoot issues
- Verify orders and identify patients using two identifiers, explaining procedures and obtaining informed consent
- Document patient history and maintain accurate records in the EHR for radiologist review
- Assist with clerical tasks, phone reception, and patient transport when needed to keep the clinic running smoothly
- Train, cross-train, and mentor imaging staff to promote a collaborative team environment
- Stock and manage supply inventory and contribute to department continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of background check, pre-employment drug screen, and any required employee health checks
- Preferred: prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography
- Preferred: experience with electronic imaging systems such as PACS and RIS/HIS
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiography and image acquisition best practices
- CT, X-ray, Fluoroscopy and C-arm operation
- Patient identification and patient education techniques
- ALARA radiation safety principles
- Equipment operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Electronic Health Records (EHR) and image management systems (PACS, RIS/HIS)
- Operating room radiography and working within clinical protocols
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-service orientation
