Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, bathing, grooming, and toileting with dignity
- Take and record vital signs and document care accurately in charting systems
- Support a positive, respectful environment that promotes resident independence
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (see Education for details)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Comfortable assisting with transfers and performing basic patient care
- Good communication skills and ability to work well on a care team
- Available to complete facility onboarding, background check, and drug screen as required
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved GNA training program and current GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience or training in geriatric care and activities of daily living
- Understanding of basic infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Patient transfer and safe-lifting techniques
- Strong observational skills and clear communication
- Compassion, patience, and respect for older adult populations
