Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities
• Document care provided and observations accurately and timely in the resident chart
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure individualized, person-centered care plans are followed
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required)
• Experience or demonstrated interest in geriatric care or long-term care settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work evening per diem shifts
• Strong communication skills and a kind, patient bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant / GNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic nursing assistant duties and resident rights
• Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Familiarity with infection control practices and standard precautions
• Good documentation and observation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with elderly residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and report clinical changes accurately
