Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room for scheduled procedures, ensuring a sterile, safe environment
• Verify complete preparation of supplies, instruments, equipment, and any special implants prior to surgery
• Open and dispense sterile items accurately and safely while maintaining aseptic technique
• Assess patient-specific needs including history, positioning, and procedural requirements
• Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments in coordination with the scrub person
• Capture accurate charge documentation for patient-specific OR items
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to deliver excellent patient care
• Follow facility policies for orientation, call-back, and time-off requests to maintain smooth operations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of current Operating Room experience (required)
• Experience as both scrub and circulating RN; current scrub and circulate skills checklists required
• Orthopedic and neurosurgery experience (required)
• EPIC EMR experience (required)
• Active RN license in New Hampshire or Compact license accepted (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required)
• Must have reliable personal transportation; this is a rural area with no public transit
• Permanent address and any requested time-off (RTO) must be included in profile at submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and infection control best practices
• Instrument identification, counts, and handling of surgical instruments
• Familiarity with orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures and implants
• EPIC EMR navigation and accurate charge capture for OR supplies
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-paced surgical environments
• Ability to assess and implement patient positioning and special equipment needs
• Detail-oriented documentation and time management under pressure
