Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and thoroughly to maintain clear resident records
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required immunizations/tuberculosis screening
• Comfort working with older adults and strong commitment to compassionate care
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and documentation standards

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) care and personal hygiene assistance
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with infection control and resident safety practices
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility support
• Empathy, patience, and respect for resident dignity
