Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per-diem day shift, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (days vary based on facility needs)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Safely assist with transfers and mobility, supporting independence whenever possible
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to ensure consistent, high-quality care
- Respect patient dignity, privacy, and safety at all times
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required) — Class: GNA as listed
- Valid state GNA/CNA licensure or eligibility as required by Maryland regulations
- CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Able to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Comfortable working independently on per-diem assignments and following care plans
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, toileting, and ADL support
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a care team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
