Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Safely assist with transfers and mobility, supporting independence whenever possible
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to ensure consistent, high-quality care
• Respect patient dignity, privacy, and safety at all times

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required) — Class: GNA as listed
• Valid state GNA/CNA licensure or eligibility as required by Maryland regulations
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Able to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Comfortable working independently on per-diem assignments and following care plans

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, toileting, and ADL support
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
