Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, supporting activities of daily living with dignity
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while promoting independence
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and report changes in condition to nurses and other care team members promptly
• Document resident care accurately and timely to ensure continuity and quality
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for residents
• Engage residents in friendly conversation and meaningful activities to support emotional well-being
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to contribute to care plans and positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification in the state of Maryland (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable supporting geriatric residents and skilled in compassionate hands-on care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a resident-first attitude
• Ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living and basic geriatric care needs
• Skill in safe resident transfers, positioning and mobility assistance
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition clearly
• Basic documentation skills and familiarity with electronic or paper charting
• Infection control best practices and adherence to safety protocols
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents and families
