Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize life-saving care
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for a wide variety of acute conditions
- Perform trauma assessments and interventions using evidence-based practice
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to coordinate care
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and maintain required certifications
Qualifications
- Vermont RN license or Compact license (must be uploaded with profile)
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) and TNCC — all certifications must be active and in hand
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Travel nurse experience preferred (minimum 3 months preferred)
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required)
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment
- Perm address and any requested time off (RTO) must be included in your profile at submission
Education
- Registered Nurse licensure required (Vermont or Compact)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong trauma nursing skills and emergency assessment expertise
- Proficiency in cardiac life support and rapid cardiac assessment
- Excellent triage and prioritization under pressure
- Skilled clinical decision-making and rapid interventions
- Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Accurate, timely documentation and adherence to policies
