Roles & Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to deliver safe, high-quality care to progressive care/telemetry patients
- Teach patients and their families to promote understanding and support recovery
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Monitor telemetry and recognize/respond to changes in patient condition
- Float to MCU/PSU/APU as needed to support unit staffing and broaden clinical experience
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) — or willing to obtain Oregon RN license prior to or upon start
- Minimum 24 months of recent Intermediate/Progressive Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) experience
- Acute care hospital experience required
- ACLS (AHA) — must be willing to obtain if not currently active
- BLS (AHA) — must be willing to obtain if not currently active
- Comfortable floating to MCU/PSU/APU and working in telemetry/stepdown settings
- Resume and discipline-specific skills checklist required for submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and progressive care monitoring
- Patient education and teaching techniques
- Accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical record use
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration and care coordination
- Assessment and prioritization of critically evolving patients
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while escalating concerns appropriately
