Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, and ADLs
- Assist with mobility and safe transfers while promoting resident independence
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Document resident care clearly and timely in the chart or EHR
- Support mealtime assistance and monitor nutritional needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
- Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, residents, and families to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort with physical aspects of the role including lifting and standing for shifts
- Strong communication skills and genuine empathy for patients and families
- Previous experience as a CNA is a plus but caring attitude and willingness to learn matter most
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living and safe resident handling
- Basic competency in taking and documenting vital signs
- Understanding of infection control practices and PPE use
- Familiarity with resident rights, privacy, and HIPAA basics
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication and time management
