Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver precise radiation treatments to patients using established protocols and a compassionate bedside manner
- Operate and maintain linear accelerators and simulators safely and efficiently
- Perform dosimetry checks and prepare block cutting as required to support accurate treatment delivery
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated care
- Document treatments and patient interactions accurately in Cerner and maintain clear, timely charting
- Maintain radiation safety standards and ensure equipment quality assurance procedures are followed
- Educate and support patients and families about treatment processes and safety precautions
Qualifications
- Current Therapeutic Radiology license issued by the state of California (required)
- ARRT (Certified Radiation Therapist) - verification required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in radiation oncology
- Demonstrated experience with linear accelerators, simulators, dosimetry and block cutting
- Comfortable using Cerner or similar electronic charting systems
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiation therapy equipment and safety protocols
- Proficiency with patient positioning, simulation, and treatment delivery workflows
- Familiarity with dosimetry principles and block fabrication
- Accurate charting and electronic medical record skills (Cerner experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Attention to detail, time management, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
