Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care for adult and pediatric patients in the ICU, using evidence-based practices
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway interventions, titrating support to patient needs
• Document all respiratory assessments and interventions accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care
• Respond quickly and effectively to bedside emergencies and rapid response situations
• Float between like units as needed to support patient flow and staffing demands
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage in a manner that supports continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist) — required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory experience (ICU experience preferred)
• Comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients
• Proficient with Epic charting (experience with Epic is a plus)
• Willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Able to float within scope between like units to meet facility needs
• Must hold active state respiratory licensure (pending licenses are not accepted)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
• Airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
• Critical care principles for adult and pediatric populations
• Accurate and thorough documentation in Epic
• Ability to work independently on night shift and collaborate with daytime teams
• Adaptability to float between units and cover varied patient acuity
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure settings
