Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist licensed occupational therapists in delivering individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence
• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to improve daily living skills and functional outcomes
• Document patient progress and treatment responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure the best patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs and adaptive strategies to support continued progress
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required, or eligible
• Active California registration/licensure for COTAs required or able to obtain prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working in varied clinical settings and adapting to changing schedules
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented mindset
• Previous COTA experience preferred (1+ year ideal), but new grads with strong clinical training are welcome to apply

Education

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or related field required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques for activities of daily living and functional mobility
• Skilled in patient assessment, adaptive equipment recommendations, and treatment implementation
• Proficient with documentation standards and electronic medical records
• Ability to instruct patients and caregivers in home programs and safety techniques
• Familiarity with infection control, safe transfer techniques, and patient handling
