Shift Type: Every other weekend plus two weekdays (Sunday or Saturday + 2 weekdays), 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM day shift, 36 hours/week guaranteed (48 hours available if preferred)

Candidate Pay Rate: $33 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct resident care including bathing, grooming, toileting and honoring dignity
- Turn and reposition residents per plan of care and maintain range of motion
- Obtain and report vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse) to the licensed nurse
- Assist with feeding and transport residents to dining areas using safe techniques
- Perform safe transfers using transfer belts and mechanical lifts as indicated
- Document care and resident responses in the electronic nursing assistant charting system
- Conduct resident rounds, respond to call lights and promptly report condition changes to the Charge Nurse
- Follow infection control policies and participate in required training and care planning
Qualifications
- Active Michigan CNA license (must be current on the state registry) — required
- BLS (AHA) certification — required
- 1+ year CNA/PCT/LNA experience in Long Term Care, SNF, or Med-Surg — required
- At least one completed successful travel assignment — required (please note on work history)
- Willingness to float to other units and work weekends as scheduled
- Comfortable with animals on site (facility has dogs, cats and aviaries)
- RTO (return to office/time off) cannot exceed 5 days; do not request RTO after an offer is made
- Must have reliable, timely attendance and be available for hours beyond normally scheduled shifts when needed
- Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not considered for this travel assignment
Education
- Completion of state-approved CNA program and active MI CNA certification/registry
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Direct resident care: bathing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene
- Turning/repositioning, maintaining range of motion and safe transfers
- Competent with mechanical lifts and transfer belts
- Obtaining and charting vital signs accurately
- Electronic nursing assistant charting and documentation practices
- Infection control procedures and resident safety policies
- Responding to call lights and performing resident rounds
- Ability to assist with feeding and dining-area resident transport
- Familiarity with long term care, SNF and med-surg environments
- Comfort with Relias training and participation in ongoing in-services
