Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Days), schedule published 6 weeks out for 4-week blocks; every-other-weekend required; float pool assignment across campuses (may be notified ~2 hours prior). Night shift block scheduling may be accommodated when needed.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for MedSurg Tele and PCU patients across float assignments
- Interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias accurately and act promptly to ensure patient safety
- Titrate commonly used drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin) per unit protocols
- Care for post-procedural cardiac and CABG patients (post-op management, groin site care, post MI/post cath)
- Collaborate effectively with monitor techs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists and support staff
- Document thoroughly in Cerner and follow hospital policies and float-pool scheduling procedures
- Participate in unit-specific orientation and maintain required certifications (BLS, ACLS)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to submit for the assignment)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (posting lists 2 years); at least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
- Comfortable titrating and managing common drips and interpreting cardiac telemetry
- Must take and pass the dysrhythmia exam (minimum 80% within two attempts) prior to contract signing
- Must meet radius/employment rules (no FT/PT/PRN at CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities in the past year)
Education
- BSN not required (posting indicates BSN required: No)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and active RN licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
- MedSurg and PCU/stepdown clinical skills
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and heated high-flow therapy in stepdown settings
- Drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring
- Effective teamwork and communication with monitor techs, nurse aids and charge staff
- Ability to float across units and adapt to changing assignments
