Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Day) and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night); primarily Night shifts with requirement to work 2-3 day shifts for orientation; rotating schedule with weekend and holiday coverage (must work four weekend shifts per schedule).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform continuous remote surveillance of cardio-pulmonary rhythms via a central monitoring station for multiple locations.
- Recognize, record, and report dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias promptly and accurately.
- Follow established protocols to notify local RN staff and escalate emergent issues through proper communication channels.
- Maintain vigilance across a high patient ratio (comfortable monitoring 45–60 patients) using GE and Ascom equipment.
- Document events and actions clearly and follow command center policies to support patient safety and department metrics.
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and directors to improve outcomes and streamline workflows.
- Participate in orientation, mandatory in-person GE team training for go-live groups, and ongoing cross-training opportunities.
- Adhere to facility policies including strict no personal cell phone use and use of hospital-provided work phone for communications.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited telemetry/monitor tech or relevant program that includes EKG interpretation.
- Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience required; 3 years preferred.
- BLS certification required and current.
- Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting the assignment (lethal rhythms are pass/fail with only one attempt).
- Comfortable monitoring high-volume telemetry loads (45–60 patients) in a virtual monitoring environment.
- Available for 2–3 day shifts for orientation (even if assigned to nights) and able to work required weekends and holidays.
- Unable to hold another job while on assignment (exclusive availability required).
- Willingness to comply with hospital policies (no personal cell phones on the job; hospital provides phone).
Education
- Graduation from an accredited telemetry/monitor tech or relevant clinical program including EKG interpretation
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and remote surveillance/central monitoring best practices
- EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition, including advanced dysrhythmia
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system and GE monitoring equipment
- Experience with Ascom communications equipment and remote patient monitoring tools
- Strong clinical communication, escalation, and documentation skills
- Ability to follow protocols in high-pressure, fast-paced virtual hospital settings
- Comfort with technology-driven workflows and cross-training into related virtual roles
