Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify functional needs
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans focused on patient goals and independence
- Deliver hands-on therapeutic interventions and adaptive strategies for activities of daily living
- Collaborate closely with nurses, PT, SLP and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document patient progress, treatment plans and discharge recommendations accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive equipment and safe functional strategies
- Participate in team meetings, care planning and quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in Massachusetts or eligible for state licensure
- OTR/L credential or equivalent clinical certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated clinical skills in rehab/contract settings with strong patient-centered focus
- Excellent communication, documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s, OTD, or equivalent clinical degree) or accredited OT program completion
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL training, therapeutic activity design and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Experience with splinting, positioning and therapeutic modalities used in rehabilitation
- Proficient in clinical documentation and outcome measurement in an EMR environment
- Strong clinical reasoning, time management and caseload prioritization skills
- Ability to coach patients and families and to translate clinical goals into practical plans
