Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care across medical and surgical units, adapting as a flex RN who floats where needed
• Perform clinical procedures and manage devices including wound vacs and chest tubes with competence and confidence
• Safely administer medications using Pyxis and document care accurately in Meditech EMR
• Prioritize patient safety and adhere to infection control, hospital policies, and professional standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, escalate concerns, and support positive patient outcomes
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training to maintain readiness across multiple departments
• Support efficient patient flow and contribute to maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios on night shifts

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the assignment start date
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• 2-10 years of relevant nursing experience (medical-surgical or acute care experience preferred)
• Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Comfort and experience floating between units and working 12-hour night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surgical nursing knowledge and critical thinking on night shift
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and medication systems like Pyxis
• Experience with wound vac management and chest tube care
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
• Adaptability to float between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and occasionally Cardiovascular units
