Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy across SNF, Assisted Living, and Independent Living settings
• Evaluate residents and develop individualized, goal-driven treatment plans
• Deliver dysphagia management and swallowing therapy with evidence-based approaches
• Document clearly and efficiently in EMR systems to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support holistic patient outcomes
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers to promote carryover and long-term success
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented therapy environment and mentor colleagues when appropriate

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Active Maryland (MD) state license
• Experience in senior living, skilled nursing, or rehab settings is helpful but not required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to varied patient needs
• Commitment to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration

Knowledge & Skills

• Swallowing therapy and dysphagia management
• Speech, language and cognitive evaluation and treatment planning
• EMR documentation best practices
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with nursing and therapy teams
• Patient and caregiver education for long-term carryover
• Familiarity with common geriatric diagnoses: stroke, dementia, Parkinson's, post-acute conditions
