Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care while monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Perform comprehensive assessments, implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes for critically ill patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following hospital protocols and best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff — to coordinate care
• Operate and troubleshoot common ICU equipment and ventilators, ensuring patient safety
• Document care clearly and timely in the medical record and communicate changes to the care team and family

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Louisiana (or compact/eligible where applicable)
• Clinical ICU experience preferred (new grads with strong critical care training may be considered based on unit needs)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or within a facility timeline
• Critical care certification such as CCRN is a plus
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide dependable, compassionate care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for critically ill adult patients
• Competence with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfortable with critical care medications and titrations
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and timely documentation practices
• Ability to prioritize and manage high-acuity workload in a fast-paced environment
