Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding)
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and resident status
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver quality care
- Build trusting relationships with residents and support their emotional needs
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Pennsylvania) — required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a CNA is a plus but caring attitude and strong work ethic matter most
- Ability to pass background checks and any required health screenings
Education
- CNA certification (state-approved program); high school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fundamentals in personal care and ADLs
- Accurate vital sign measurement and observational skills
- Clear communication and teamwork abilities
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Compassion, patience, and a resident-centered mindset
