Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days or nights; exact start/end times vary by unit schedule)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patient condition, making timely clinical judgments to promote safety and recovery
Administer medications and treatments accurately while following protocols
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement patient-centered care plans
Provide clear education and compassionate support to patients and families
Document patient care and progress accurately in the electronic health record
Advocate for patient safety, quality improvement, and best practices on the unit

Qualifications

Active RN license in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure (compact license accepted if applicable)
Prior experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical Nursing
BLS required; ACLS or other certifications encouraged depending on unit needs
Comfort and experience working 12-hour shifts, including weekends as scheduled
Strong communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Medical-Surgical nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills
Medication administration and IV therapy competency
Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation
Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking
Collaborative approach and effective communication with patients and colleagues
