Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to medical-surgical patients with professionalism and compassion
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record in a timely manner
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana or compact RN license as applicable
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or as required by facility
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Medication administration and documentation accuracy
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems
• Excellent patient education and bedside manner
• Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
