Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit
Perform thorough assessments, develop nursing plans, and document care accurately
Administer medications and treatments safely following hospital protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Monitor patients’ clinical status and escalate changes promptly to the care team
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
Medical-Surgical nursing experience (recent Med/Surg experience preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS/PALS as required or preferred by facility
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Medical-Surgical nursing practices and procedures
Familiarity with IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) for charting and orders
Ability to prioritize multiple patients and manage time effectively
Patient education and family-centered care skills
