Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Assess patients, develop and implement nursing plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies accurately and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize care
• Monitor and document patient status, changes, and progress in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible for RN licensure in Hawaii
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, dependable, and a team player with a patient-first mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration and documentation standards
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and accurate charting
• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, IV therapy, and post-op care
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
