Shift Type: 12-hour shifts; schedule varies (specific start/end times to be provided by the facility; may include day and night rotations and weekend coverage)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess, monitor, and document patient status on the Med/Surg unit with attention to detail
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to create and update patient care plans
Provide patient and family education, support, and clear discharge instructions
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record
Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license eligible
BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred where applicable
Previous Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and be flexible with rotating schedules

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
Post-operative and acute care principles for Med/Surg patients
Familiarity with electronic health record systems and accurate charting
Patient education and discharge planning skills
Effective communication, teamwork, and time management
