Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to PCU patients, focusing on safety and recovery
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor telemetry and vital signs
• Administer medications and therapies accurately and document care in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient-centered plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate per hospital protocols

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure as required for practice in the assignment state
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (as listed in the job details)
• Experience or comfort working in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and manage acuity on a PCU

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment in intermediate acuity care
• IV medication administration and familiarity with common acute care drips
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Accurate electronic medical record documentation
