Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate when needed
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate, timely charting

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii license or multistate compact eligibility—confirm with recruiter)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications encouraged
• Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
• Strong assessment, communication and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and common medical-surgical conditions
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and patient monitoring
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Effective teamwork, time management and patient advocacy skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
