Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to acute-care patients using current evidence-based practices
• Assess, initiate, and monitor respiratory therapy treatment plans and ventilator settings
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling, analyze results, and adjust therapy as appropriate
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and discharge plans
• Document treatments, patient responses, and equipment data accurately and promptly

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT) or equivalent certification
• Current or eligible for state licensure in Georgia
• Clinical experience in acute care or hospital settings preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or available through employer support
• Strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well in fast-paced environments

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field (or equivalent)
• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with ventilator management and respiratory care equipment
• Solid knowledge of airway management, aerosol therapy, and oxygen delivery systems
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy accordingly
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comfort with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Adaptability to changing patient acuity and unit workflow
