Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and maintain patient comfort and dignity
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, and mobility while encouraging patient independence
• Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection control protocols
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment and advocate for patient needs

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — Hawaii certification preferred or ability to obtain
• Previous experience in acute care or similar fast-paced settings is a strong plus
• CPR/BLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Demonstrated ability to handle physically demanding duties and patient transfers
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental nursing assistant skills: ADLs, hygiene assistance, feeding, toileting
• Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs and patient observations
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Comfort working in acute care environments and responding to changing patient conditions
• Collaborative communication with nurses, therapists, and support staff
