Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients and residents, supporting daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation and positioning to reduce fall risk
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of patient status and care provided
- Communicate effectively with nurses, interdisciplinary team members, and families
- Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a clean, safe environment
- Support a positive patient experience through empathy, professionalism, and teamwork
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active state CNA credential or eligibility to obtain one in Pennsylvania
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care is a plus
- Ability to pass facility-required health screenings (e.g., TB test, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- Completion of an approved CNA training program
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care
- Knowledge of basic vital sign measurement and documentation
- Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
- Good observational skills to notice changes in patient condition
- Ability to follow care plans, directions from nursing staff, and facility policies
- Dependable time management and the ability to work collaboratively
