Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the OR for a wide variety of cases including ortho, urology, GYN, neuro, vascular, general surgery, ENT, bariatric and ophthalmic procedures
• Use Cerner Surginet for accurate perioperative charting and case documentation
• Participate in robotic-assisted surgeries (DaVinci) and support robotic case workflow
• Scrub, circulate or assist as needed to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow
• Respond to on-call assignments and emergency cases within a 30-minute window
• Float to nearby Mercy Downtown when needed and collaborate with cross-site teams
• Support a safe, compliant environment during ongoing construction activities around the OR

Qualifications

• Active California RN license in good standing
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience in an acute care setting (surgery-center-only experience does not meet requirement)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated experience with Cerner Surginet (Cerner required)
• Hands-on experience with robotics (DaVinci) and the full range of common cases listed
• Able to live or stay within a 30-minute radius to meet on-call requirements
• Comfortable scrubbing and circulating (scrubbing preferred but not strictly required)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred but not required; active CA RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing knowledge and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instruments, case flow and room setup for multiple specialties
• Experience with robotic surgery workflows and assisting with DaVinci cases
• Proficient Cerner Surginet documentation skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork and ability to function under high-volume OR days
• Adaptability to floating between sites and working through construction-related noise or disruptions
• Ability to manage call obligations and respond promptly when needed
