Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using high-frequency sound waves to produce clear sonographic images
• Capture and document high-quality images that help physicians assess, diagnose, and monitor patient conditions
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, ER physicians, and the care team to support patient diagnosis and treatment plans
• Prepare patients for imaging, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, follow quality assurance procedures, and report any technical issues promptly
• Accurately enter exam documentation into patient records and communicate urgent findings per facility protocols
• Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and facility-specific policies including compliance submission timelines
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to stay current with procedures and hospital expectations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ultrasound experience (required)
• Active ultrasound-related certifications as required by the facility (please provide copies during submission; CCMH may still review applicants without active copies)
• NIHSS certification referenced by facility (1-year NIH certification link provided by employer)
• Willingness to provide complete work history and permanent address during application (facility uses this to consider local candidates)
• Ability to submit all compliance documents at least one week prior to start and make scheduling requests at time of submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Ultrasound imaging and sonogram generation expertise
• Proficiency in patient imaging techniques and positioning
• Experience working in Operating Room and Emergency Room environments
• Familiarity with imaging equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Attention to detail for image quality, documentation, and QA processes
• Comfort working in fast-paced clinical settings and adapting to case-based workflows
