Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and monitor ventilators and CP equipment including Vapotherm, PAP, oxygen devices and related apparatus
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis using ABG instruments and interpret results to guide care
• Perform arterial sticks, capillary sticks and venipuncture safely and accurately
• Administer inhaled medications and therapeutic gases per physician orders
• Conduct thorough patient assessments from birth to geriatric populations and initiate appropriate respiratory therapies
• Document assessments, care plans, treatments, procedures, medications and critical values clearly in the EMR
• Verify and clarify physician orders in the EMR and ensure verbal orders are recorded per policy
• Act as a clinical resource during night shift, supporting decision-making and mentoring colleagues
• Perform EKGs upon order or request and assist with night shift department duties as required

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (explicit requirement)
• Comfortable working night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator management, oxygen therapy, Vapotherm and PAP
• Proven ability to perform ABG analysis and arterial, capillary and venous sticks
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with EMR workflows
• Ability to assess and treat patients across the lifespan from neonate to geriatric

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and respiratory device operation
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
• Oxygen therapy, inhaled medication administration and therapeutic gas management
• Arterial, capillary and venous blood collection techniques
• EKG acquisition upon order
• Patient assessment, clinical decision-making and evidence-based respiratory treatment
• Accurate clinical documentation and EMR proficiency
• Ability to function independently and act as a clinical resource on nights
