Shift Type: Rotating 10-hour shifts; 4x10 schedule with weekend call rotation every 4th-5th weekend and one weeknight on-call per week (rotating)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the OR for orthopedic and neurosurgery cases
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and implants using strict sterile technique
- Anticipate surgeon needs and assist during procedures to support excellent outcomes
- Perform thorough pre-op and post-op assessments and communicate changes to the care team
- Respond promptly and professionally to on-call notifications for urgent surgical needs
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical techs, and other clinicians to ensure smooth workflows
- Document care accurately in the medical record and participate in quality improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required prior to start)
- Operating Room (OR) experience required with demonstrated Orthopedic OR experience
- Neurosurgery OR experience required (Level 1 or Level 2 experience preferred)
- Prior on-call experience and comfort covering weekend and weeknight call rotations
- Current BLS required; ACLS and specialty certifications a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in sterile technique and OR infection control practices
- Knowledge of orthopedic and neurosurgical instruments, implants, and procedures
- Skilled in patient assessment, perioperative monitoring, and postoperative care
- Familiarity with common OR documentation and electronic medical records
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
