Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Progressive Care Unit nursing care, managing patient acuity and clinical needs
• Serve as charge nurse when scheduled: lead the shift, coordinate assignments, and support staff
• Administer and manage drips/IV infusions safely and according to policy
• Monitor telemetry and intervene appropriately for changes in cardiac status
• Float to inpatient units as needed, delivering consistent, safe care across settings
• Maintain accurate documentation, handoffs, and communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Support orientation and mentorship of new staff and travel nurses as required

Qualifications

• Active Vermont RN license or Compact RN (must be uploaded with profile)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of current med-surg/telemetry experience
• Charge nurse experience — supervisory signed reference required (from past 2 years)
• Minimum 3 months prior travel nursing experience (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
• Demonstrated drip/IV infusion experience (required)
• Willingness to float to inpatient units within scope of practice
• Own vehicle and permanent address on file; include any scheduling restrictions (RTO) at submission

Knowledge & Skills

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) workflows and 3:1 PCU care expectations
• Medical-surgical and telemetry patient assessment and monitoring
• Telemetry interpretation and rapid response to cardiac changes
• Drip/IV infusion management and titration
• Charge nurse leadership, triage, and staff coordination
• Experience in small critical access hospital environments and ICU exposure (preferred)
