Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, includes every-other-weekend coverage and a minimum of two holidays during the contract (night assignment)

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to identify cardiac changes and intervene quickly
- Titrate IV drips safely and per protocol for meds like heparin, nitro, dopamine and amiodarone
- Manage arterial lines and provide skilled post-stent and post-pacer care
- Provide high-quality PCU/stepdown nursing for adults with cardiac, renal, respiratory and vascular conditions
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear patient records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including charge nurses, RTs and techs to optimize patient care
- Support patient experience goals through compassionate communication and responsiveness
- Use unit equipment such as vein finders, bladder scanners and portable/overhead lifts safely
- Adapt to floating assignments and changing acuity while maintaining high standards of care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (PCU/telemetry or med-surg/cardiac experience preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
- Demonstrated competency with arterial lines and titration of drips
- Telemetry interpretation skills and prior telemetry/PCU experience
- Comfort working 12-hour night shifts and meeting weekend/holiday requirements
- Valid driver’s license at time of submittal and ability to meet a 50-mile radius rule
- Willingness to complete orientation and pass the open-book skills exam (90% passing requirement)
Education
- Nursing degree (ADN or BSN). BSN is not required for this role
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry reading and cardiac med-surg nursing knowledge
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- IV drip management and familiarity with common titratable medications
- Experience working with high-flow oxygen devices and troubleshooting basic RT equipment
- Skill using vein finders and bladder scanners; safe use of lifts
- Cultural competency working with diverse populations (notably Spanish and Somalian communities)
- Excellent communication, teamwork and flexibility in a fast-paced acute care setting
