Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, age-appropriate patient care using evidence-based nursing practice
• Provide compassionate telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients
• Employ the Nursing Process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
• Assume leadership responsibilities on shift, including delegation and oversight of support staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and facility policies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient condition and nursing interventions
• Support a therapeutic environment by using de-escalation techniques when appropriate

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure or compact privileges as applicable)
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS (or ENPC) required to be active prior to contract start date; if not active, a booked course is required at time of clinical orientation
• De-escalation training required (must be active prior to start or scheduled at orientation)
• Clinical experience or strong competency in medical-surgical nursing and telemetry care
• Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks and provide leadership on shift
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medical-surgical nursing best practices
• Nursing Process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation
• Cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support principles (ACLS, PALS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response skills
• Patient and family communication, including de-escalation techniques
• Delegation and team coordination in a clinical setting
• Documentation standards and regulatory compliance
