Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day: 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM; Night: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM). Schedule includes every-other-weekend requirement and holiday coverage as needed. Night-focused 12-hour shifts available.

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert neonatal nursing care in a Level III NICU, managing infants 30 weeks and above and stabilizing/transferring younger patients as needed
- Titrate medications and IV drips (including antibiotics, caffeine, TPN/lipids) safely and per protocol
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators and collaborate with RTs for best outcomes
- Deliver 1:1 to 1:4 patient care depending on acuity, prioritizing safety and family-centered care
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear, up-to-date patient records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support charge nurses, and float to postpartum when needed
- Complete unit orientation and demonstrate competency — pass the open-book orientation exam (90% required)
Qualifications
- Active RN license in your state of practice required
- NRP and BLS certifications required at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of neonatal/NICU experience (or relevant neonatal clinical experience)
- Comfort with drip titration and ventilator troubleshooting
- Driver's license required at submittal; candidate must be within the 50-mile radius and cannot be FT/PT/PRN with CommonSpirit affiliates (including CHI/Dignity)
- Willingness to work every other weekend and cover holidays as needed
- Must complete required RTO (7 or fewer days for a 13-week contract) and pass orientation exam with a 90% score
Education
- Nursing diploma/ADN or BSN
- Active RN license required (BSN preferred but not required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal nursing and NICU clinical skills
- NRP & BLS certified resuscitation knowledge
- Drip titration and IV medication management
- Ventilator and respiratory troubleshooting (nasal cannula through vents)
- EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and stabilization skills
- Clear, compassionate communication with families and the care team
- Stabilization and safe transfer practices for neonatal patients
